The film is based on the concept album L-Eru-, which was released on February 25, 2016. The album is a work by Acid Black Cherry, the solo project of Yasu, who is also the vocalist for the rock band Janne Da Arc. The screenplay was written by Ten Shimoyama and Tomoko Akutsu.
