Koizora (2008 TV Series)

Koizora (Japanese: 恋空), also known as Sky of Love, is a Japanese television drama series that aired on the TBS network in 2008. The series consists of six episodes and was broadcast from August 2 to September 13, 2008, in the Saturday 19:56–20:54 time slot.

Background and Development

The series is based on a popular mobile phone novel of the same name, originally published on the website Mahou no iRando. The story was written by an author known as Mika and is described as being based on her personal experiences. Following its online success, the story was published in book form in October 2007, achieving significant commercial success by selling over one million copies within its first month of release.

Plot Summary

The narrative follows Mika Tahara (played by Erena Mizusawa), an ordinary high school student. Her life changes after an unexpected encounter with a classmate, Hiroki "Hiro" Sakurai (played by Koji Seto), who is known for his bleached hair and piercings. Despite initial shock and complications involving Hiro's existing relationship, Mika finds herself developing feelings for him, leading to a complex romantic journey.

The drama was directed by Natsuki Imai and Ayato Matsuda, with a screenplay by Mutsuki Watanabe. The production was overseen by producer Shoichi Kato. The cast includes:
