Koiwazurai no Ellie (2024 Film)

Koiwazurai no Ellie (Japanese: 恋わずらいのエリー) is a 2024 Japanese romantic comedy film directed by Koichiro Miki. The film is an adaptation of the manga series of the same name by author Momo Fuji, which was serialized in the magazine Dessert from July 2015 to May 2020.

Plot

The story follows Eriko Ichimura, a high school student who maintains a low profile. Her primary interest is observing Akira Omi, a popular and seemingly perfect classmate. Eriko anonymously documents her romantic fantasies about Omi on social media under the handle "Lovesick Ellie." Her perception of Omi shifts when she discovers his hidden, cynical personality. The situation escalates when Omi discovers her social media account and learns of her secret thoughts, leading to an unexpected dynamic between the two.

The film was produced by Minori Tabuchi and Mari Furubayashi, with a screenplay written by Satoko Okazaki. It was released in Japan on March 15, 2024, and distributed by Shochiku. The film has a runtime of 108 minutes.
