Koichi Yajima

Koichi Yajima (Japanese: 矢島弘一) is a Japanese screenwriter and director known for his work across Japanese television dramas and feature films.

Career

Yajima has contributed to numerous television series and theatrical films in Japan as both a writer and a director. His credits in television direction include series such as Busujima Yuriko no Sekirara Nikki (TBS, 2016), Kounodori (TBS, 2017), Aino Mating Agency Inc (TV Asahi, 2017), and Zankokuna Kankyakutachi (NTV, 2017).

As a screenwriter, his television drama credits include Zankokuna Kankyakutachi (NTV, 2017), Kenko de Bunkatekina Saiteigendo no Seikatsu (Fuji TV-KTV, 2018), Wasteful Days of High School Girls (TV Asahi, 2020), Hachigatsu wa Yoru no Batting Center de (TV Tokyo, 2021), Hatsukoi Zarari (TV Tokyo, 2023), Gentle Cat (NHK, 2023), and Fuufu Bessei Deka (Fuji TV, 2026). In feature films, he wrote the screenplay for 6 Lying University Students (2024).
