Production and Background
The series is based on the manga series Kodoku no Gourmet, created by Masayuki Qusumi and illustrated by Jiro Taniguchi. The original source material was published across two magazines: Monthly PANJA between 1994 and 1996, and Shukan SPA! between 2008 and 2015. The television adaptation is directed by Yoshihiro Taguchi and Hisashi Itasaka.
