Kim Jin-Min (Television and Film Director)

Kim Jin-Min (born 1972) is a South Korean television and film director. He is recognized for his work across various broadcasting networks and streaming platforms, having directed notable drama series such as Time Between Dog and Wolf, Lawless Lawyer, Extracurricular, and My Name.

Early Life and Personal Life

Kim Jin-Min was born in South Korea in 1972. He is married to South Korean actress Kim Yeo-Jin.

Directing Career

Kim began his career directing television series primarily for MBC, before expanding his work to cable networks like tvN and streaming services like Netflix. His notable television credits include Shin Don (2005–2006), Time Between Dog and Wolf (2007), Bittersweet Life (2008), Road No. 1 (2010), God of War (2012), Pride and Prejudice (2014–2015), Marriage Contract (2016), The Liar and His Lover (2017), and Lawless Lawyer (2018).

In subsequent years, he directed several projects for Netflix, including the crime-thriller series Extracurricular (2020), the action-noir series My Name (2021), the dystopian series Goodbye Earth (2024), and The Art of Sarah / Lady Dua (2025).

Acting Appearances

In addition to his primary work behind the camera, Kim made a cameo appearance as a bed and breakfast owner in the ninth episode of the 2016 MBC television series Marriage Contract, which he also directed.

Awards and Recognition

At the 9th Korea Drama Awards held on October 7, 2016, Kim received the Best Director award for his work on the television series Marriage Contract.
