Kaoru Takada
Kaoru Takada (born 1959) is a Japanese novelist and writer, best known for her historical fiction works. Born in Takarazuka, Hyogo Prefecture, Japan, she has gained recognition for her detailed period narratives, many of which have been adapted into television dramas and films.
Literary and Screenwriting Career
Takada is widely recognized for her series Mio-Tsukushi Ryouri-Chou (Mio's Cookbook), which follows the life of a young cook in Edo-period Japan. This work has been adapted multiple times for Japanese television and cinema, including a 2020 film adaptation and several television drama series produced by NHK and TV Asahi between 2012 and 2017.
In addition to her work on the Mio's Cookbook series, Takada authored Ginnikan, which was adapted into an NHK drama series in 2014. Her literary contributions continue to influence contemporary Japanese historical drama.
