Kang Nam Mom
Kang Nam Mom (also known as Catching up with Rich Mom) is a South Korean television drama series that aired on SBS from June 25 to August 21, 2007. The series consists of 18 episodes and was directed by Hong Chang-Wook with a screenplay by Kim Hyun-Hee.
Plot
The story follows Hyun Min-joo (Ha Hee-ra), a widowed single mother struggling to raise her son, Jin-woo. Despite her limited financial resources, Min-joo takes pride in her son's academic achievements. The narrative centers on the intense social and educational pressures found in the affluent Gangnam district of Seoul. After a disappointing performance at an English contest, Min-joo encounters an old friend, Yoon Soo-mi, who highlights the necessity of wealth and insider information for academic success in the region. Determined to provide better opportunities for her son, Min-joo decides to move to Gangnam and enroll Jin-woo in a prestigious middle school.
