Kakure Bitch Yattemashita

Kakure Bitch Yattemashita (Japanese: “隠れビッチ”やってました) is a 2019 Japanese film directed by Koichiro Miki. The screenplay, written by Miki, is based on the manga of the same name by Piroyo Arai, which was published by Kobunsha on September 20, 2016.

Plot

The story centers on Hiromi Arai, a 26-year-old woman who gains popularity with men by adopting a shy, unassuming persona. Her primary pastime involves manipulating men into confessing their feelings for her, only to reject them once they do. Her housemate, Akira Kojima, and her friend, Aya Kimura, criticize her behavior, labeling her a "kakure bitch"—a term used to describe a woman who hides her manipulative nature behind an innocent facade. Hiromi initially remains indifferent to this criticism until she develops genuine feelings for a colleague named Tsuyoshi Ando.

Production and Release

The film was produced by Yurie Oguro and Yukiko Shii, with cinematography by Yoko Itakura. It was distributed by Kino Films and released in Japan on December 6, 2019. The film has a runtime of 112 minutes.
