Kairos (2020 South Korean Television Series)

Kairos is a South Korean fantasy-thriller television series that aired on MBC from October 26 to December 22, 2020. The drama consists of 16 episodes and was broadcast in the Monday and Tuesday 21:30 time slot, succeeding the series Dinner Mate.

Plot

The narrative centers on Kim Seo-Jin, a high-achieving executive at a construction firm whose life is defined by professional success and a stable family life with his wife, Kang Hyun-Chae, and their daughter. His life is upended when his daughter is kidnapped, leading him into a state of profound despair. Simultaneously, the story follows Han Ae-Ri, a woman juggling studies and part-time work to support her mother, who suddenly goes missing. Through a mysterious phenomenon, Kim Seo-Jin, living in the future, is able to communicate with Han Ae-Ri, who lives one month in the past. Together, they attempt to alter past events to prevent their respective tragedies.

Production and Broadcast

The series was directed by Park Seung-Woo and Sung Chi-Wook, with the screenplay written by Lee Soo-Hyun. During its broadcast, the schedule experienced minor adjustments due to sports programming. Episode 5, originally slated for November 9, 2020, was delayed to November 10, 2020, due to a baseball playoffs game. Similarly, the broadcast of episodes 7 and 8 was rescheduled to November 24, 2020, to accommodate the 2020 Baseball Korean Series.
