Just Do It! (2000 Film)

Just Do It! (Korean: 하면된다) is a 2000 South Korean comedy film directed by Park Dae-yeong. The film explores themes of desperation and greed through the lens of a family attempting to exploit insurance policies to resolve their financial struggles.

Plot

The story centers on a family of four facing severe debt and homelessness. Their fortunes appear to change when the father is involved in a traffic accident, resulting in an insurance payout. Seeing an opportunity to escape poverty, the family begins intentionally injuring themselves to collect further insurance money. Their scheme is threatened by an insurance investigator, leading the family to manipulate the situation to protect their illicit income stream.

Production

The film was directed by Park Dae-yeong and written by Kwon In-chan. It was produced by Han Sung-goo and Lee Min-ho, with cinematography by Moon Yong-sik. The film was released in South Korea on October 28, 2000, with a total runtime of 93 minutes.
