Just Dance (2018 South Korean TV Series)

Just Dance (Korean: 땐뽀걸즈; RR: Ddaenbbogeorjeu) is a South Korean television drama series that aired on KBS2 from December 3 to December 25, 2018. The series consists of 16 episodes and was directed by Park Hyun-Suk with a screenplay by Kwon Hye-Ji. It is a dramatized adaptation of the 2017 documentary film Dance Sports Girls.

Background and Plot

The story is set in Geoje, South Gyeongsang Province, a city heavily reliant on the shipbuilding industry. As the local industry faces a decline, the narrative follows a group of six high school girls who join their school's dance sports club. Their primary objective is to excel in a dance sports competition. The central characters include Si-Eun (Park Se-Wan), Hye-Jin (Lee Joo-Young), Na-Young (Joo Hae-Eun), Ye-Ji (Shin Do-Hyun), Do-Yeon (Lee Yoo-Mi), and Young-Ji (Kim Soo-Hyun).

Production

The series was produced by KBS2 and took over the Monday and Tuesday 22:00 time slot, succeeding the drama Matrimonial Chaos. It was followed by My Lawyer, Mr. Joe 2: Crime and Punishment in January 2019. The first script reading for the production was held on September 20, 2018, at the KBS Annex Broadcasting Station in Yeouido, South Korea.
