Jung began his acting work in television and film during the early 2000s. His early television credits include minor and supporting roles in series such as The Wild Days (2002-2003) and Sassy Girl Chun-hyang (2005). In film, he appeared in prominent releases like Bong Joon-ho's monster feature The Host (2006) as CEO Yoon's employee and the romantic comedy Almost Love (2006) as a sleazy man.
