Jeon Woo-chi (2012 TV Series)

Jeon Woo-chi is a South Korean fantasy action drama series that aired on KBS2 from November 21, 2012, to February 7, 2013. The series consists of 24 episodes and was broadcast in the Wednesday and Thursday 21:55 time slot.

Plot

The story follows Jeon Woo-chi, a Taoist practitioner who gains supernatural abilities after consuming a bead from a nine-tailed fox. Following the destruction of his home in Yooldogoog by the antagonist Kang Rim and his associate Ma-Sook, Jeon Woo-chi travels to the Joseon dynasty. While seeking to rescue Princess Hong Moo-Yeon and stop his enemies, he adopts the secret identity of a low-ranking public servant named Lee Chi.

Production

The drama was directed by Kang Il-Soo with a screenplay written by Jo Myung-Joo. It occupied the KBS2 time slot previously held by The Innocent Man and was succeeded by IRIS 2 in February 2013. The series is thematically related to the 2009 film Woochi: The Demon Slayer.
