Jail Breakers (2002 Film)
Jail Breakers (Korean: 광복절특사; RR: Gwangbokjeol teuksa) is a 2002 South Korean comedy film directed by Kim Sang-Jin. The film follows the misadventures of two inmates who orchestrate a prison break, only to discover shortly after their escape that they were included in the Independence Day special pardons list.

Plot
Jae-Pil (Sul Kyung-Gu) is a model prisoner who has been diligently working toward receiving a pardon during the Independence Day special release. His plans are disrupted when his girlfriend, Kyoung-Soon (Song Yoon-A), visits him to announce she is marrying someone else. Driven by desperation to stop the wedding, Jae-Pil decides to escape.
Meanwhile, Mu-Suk (Cha Seung-Won) is an inmate who believes he was imprisoned unjustly. After years of planning, he successfully digs an escape tunnel. On the day of his planned departure, Jae-Pil joins him, and the two successfully break out of the facility. Shortly after gaining their freedom, they read the morning newspaper and discover their names are on the official list of prisoners granted a pardon. The comedy ensues as the two men attempt to return to prison to legally claim their freedom.
