Item (South Korean Television Series)
Item is a South Korean fantasy-thriller television series that aired on MBC from February 11 to April 2, 2019. The drama consists of 32 episodes, broadcast on Mondays and Tuesdays at 22:00. The series is based on the webcomic of the same name, written by Min Hyung and illustrated by Kim Joon-Seok, which began publication on March 26, 2017.
Plot
The story follows Kang Gon, a prosecutor known for his strong sense of justice and compassion. His life takes a dramatic turn when he becomes entangled in a conspiracy involving mysterious objects that possess supernatural powers. In his quest to protect his niece, Da-In, he collaborates with Shin So-Young, a skilled criminal profiler, to uncover the truth behind these items.
Production
The series was directed by Kim Sung-Wook, with the screenplay written by Jung Yi-Do. The first script reading for the production took place in mid-September 2018 at the MBC Broadcasting Station in Sangam, South Korea. The series occupied the Monday and Tuesday 22:00 time slot on MBC, following the conclusion of Less than Evil and preceding Special Labor Inspector Mr. Jo.
The casting reunited actors Ju Ji-Hoon and Jin Se-Yun, who had previously starred together in the 2012 SBS drama series Five Fingers.
