IRIS II: New Generation
IRIS II: New Generation (Korean: 아이리스 2) is a South Korean action-espionage television series that aired on KBS2 from February 13 to April 18, 2013. It serves as the direct sequel to the 2009 series IRIS, continuing the narrative conflict between the National Security Service (NSS) and the clandestine terrorist organization known as IRIS.

Plot
The story is set three years after the death of NSS agent Kim Hyeon-Jun. The narrative follows Jung Yoo-Gun, a team leader for the NSS TF-A team, and his colleague Ji Soo-Yeon as they navigate a complex web of espionage. The agency faces a renewed threat when the former NSS director, Baek San, is extracted from a high-security prison island by IRIS operatives led by Ray. As the NSS attempts to uncover the truth behind IRIS's operations and identify potential moles within their own ranks, the conflict escalates to an international scale, including high-level diplomatic meetings in Hungary.
Production
Production for IRIS II began in November 2012. The series featured extensive international location shooting, including significant sequences filmed in Budapest, Hungary. Notably, on November 21, 2012, production crews secured permission to shut down two lanes of the Széchenyi Chain Bridge for filming. The production team in Hungary integrated staff who had worked on the original IRIS series as well as crew members from the film A Good Day to Die Hard.

In December 2012, the production moved to Cambodia. The series was the first Korean production to film at the Angkor Wat temple complex, and the first production to shoot there since the 2001 film Lara Croft: Tomb Raider. These scenes depicted the first meeting between characters Yoo Joong-Won and Kim Yeon-Hwa.
