In Love and the War (2011 Film)
In Love and the War (Korean: 적과의 동침; RR: Jeokkwaui Dongchim) is a 2011 South Korean comedy-drama film directed by Park Keon-Hong. Set during the Korean War, the narrative explores the complex dynamics between the residents of a remote village and a group of North Korean soldiers who arrive in their community.

Plot
The story takes place in 1950 in Seokjeongri, a rural village that remains largely isolated from the ongoing conflict. While the villagers are preparing for the wedding of Sul-Hee (Jung Ryeo-Won), the granddaughter of the village leader, their lives are interrupted by the arrival of a North Korean military unit led by officer Kim Jung-Woong (Kim Ju-Hyuk). Although the villagers initially appear to welcome the soldiers with open arms, their hospitality is a calculated strategy designed to ensure their collective safety as the war progresses.
Production
Principal photography for the film commenced on July 9, 2010, in Hamyang County, Gyeongsangnam-do, South Korea. The film was distributed by Showbox and released in South Korea on April 27, 2011. In the South Korean media, the film was often compared to the 2005 production Welcome to Dongmakgol due to its thematic focus on the human experience during the Korean War.
