I'm Not a Robot (Korean: 로봇이 아니야; RR: Roboti Aniya) is a South Korean television series that aired on MBC from December 6, 2017, to January 25, 2018. The romantic comedy series consists of 32 episodes, broadcast in the Wednesday and Thursday 22:00 time slot.

Plot

The story follows Kim Min-kyu (Yoo Seung-ho), a wealthy and intelligent man who serves as the largest shareholder of a finance company. Despite his success, he lives in isolation due to a rare condition that causes him to have a severe allergic reaction to human contact. His life changes when he encounters Jo Ji-a (Chae Soo-bin), an aspiring entrepreneur working as a personal shopper. Through a series of events involving her ex-boyfriend, Hong Baek-gyun (Uhm Ki-joon)—a renowned robotics developer—Ji-a is hired to pose as an advanced android named Aji 3. Min-kyu, seeking to test the robot's capabilities, invites the supposed android into his home, leading to an unexpected emotional connection.

Production

The series was directed by Jung Dae-yoon and written by Kim Seon-mi. The first script reading was held on September 27, 2017, at the MBC Broadcasting Station in Sangam, South Korea. The drama occupied the time slot previously held by Hospital Ship and was succeeded by Hold Me Tight in March 2018.

Casting underwent several changes during development. Minah of the group Girl's Day was initially offered the lead female role but declined. Similarly, actor Dong Ha was considered for the lead male role but did not reach an agreement with the network.
