If You Wish Upon Me (Korean: 당신이 소원을 말하면) is a South Korean television drama series that aired on KBS2 from August 10 to September 29, 2022. The series was directed by Kim Yong-Wan and written by Jo Ryeong-Soo.
Plot
The story follows Yoon Gyeo-Rye, played by Ji Chang-Wook, a young man who has endured a difficult life, including time spent in an orphanage, a juvenile detention center, and prison. Struggling to integrate into society, he eventually begins volunteering at a hospice facility. There, he works alongside the volunteer team leader Kang Tae-Sik (Sung Dong-Il) and nurse Seo Yeon-Joo (Sooyoung), participating in efforts to fulfill the final wishes of terminally ill patients.
Inspiration
The series is inspired by the real-life Ambulance Wish Foundation, an organization that originated in the Netherlands. The foundation is dedicated to granting final wishes to terminally ill patients, a concept that serves as the central narrative driver for the hospice team's activities in the show.
