I Go to Die for You
I Go to Die for You (Japanese: 俺は、君のためにこそ死ににいく, Hepburn: Ore wa, kimi no tame ni koso shini ni iku) is a 2007 Japanese war drama film directed by Taku Shinjo. The screenplay was written by Shintaro Ishihara. The film explores the experiences of kamikaze pilots during the final stages of World War II.

Plot
Set in 1943, the narrative centers on the formation of the kamikaze special attack units as Japan's military position in the Pacific War deteriorates. The story is framed through the perspective of an aging restaurateur in Kyushu, Tome Torihama, who provides support to the young pilots and preserves the memory of their final days.

Production and Release
The film was produced and distributed by Toei Company. It was released in Japanese theaters on May 12, 2007. The production features a runtime of 140 minutes. The cinematography was handled by Hiroyuki Kitazawa and Masaharu Ueda.
