Hwang Jung-min

Hwang Jung-min (born September 1, 1970) is a prominent South Korean actor known for his extensive work in film and television. Born in Changwon, South Gyeongsang Province, he pursued formal training in acting at the Seoul Institute of the Arts after attending Kaywon High School of Arts.

Early Career

Hwang's interest in acting began during his middle school years. Following his graduation from the Seoul Institute of the Arts, he spent several years performing in theatrical productions. He transitioned to feature films in 2001 with a role in Waikiki Brothers, for which he learned to play the drums. His early performances, including his role in Road Movie (2002) and A Good Lawyer's Wife (2003), earned him critical recognition within the South Korean film industry.

Filmography and Television

Throughout his career, Hwang has been noted for his versatility, portraying a wide range of characters across various genres. His filmography includes notable titles such as A Bittersweet Life (2005), You Are My Sunshine (2005), The Unjust (2010), New World (2013), Ode to My Father (2014), Veteran (2015), The Wailing (2016), and 12.12: The Day (2023). In addition to his film work, he has appeared in television dramas, including The Accidental Couple (2009), Hush (2020), and the Netflix series Narco-Saints (2022).

Personal Life

Hwang married Kim Mi-hye in 2005. The couple, who met during their time in the performing arts, have one son.
