Plot
The narrative follows the life of Hwang Jin-yi (portrayed by Song Hye-Kyo), who is born into a noble family. Upon the revelation of a secret regarding her birth, she chooses to renounce her status and enters the life of a gisaeng—a professional female entertainer. The film explores her internal conflicts and emotional struggles as she navigates complex relationships, including her bond with her lover, Nomi (Yoo Ji-Tae), and her interactions with the powerful government official Hee-Yeol (Ryu Seung-Ryong).
