Hunt is a 2022 South Korean spy thriller film that serves as the directorial debut of actor Lee Jung-Jae. Plot

The story centers on Park Pyung-Ho (played by Lee Jung-Jae) and Kim Jung-Do (played by Jung Woo-Sung), two elite agents working for the South Korean National Security Agency. As rivals tasked with uncovering a North Korean mole embedded within their organization, the two men engage in a dangerous game of cat-and-mouse. Their investigation leads them to uncover deeper truths that threaten the stability of the nation.

Production and Release

Hunt was directed by Lee Jung-Jae, who also co-wrote the screenplay with Jo Seung-Hee. The film was produced by Park Min-Jung and Jo Jae-Sang, with cinematography by Lee Mo-Gae. It was released in South Korea on August 10, 2022, with a total runtime of 125 minutes.

Reception and Awards

The film received recognition at several major South Korean film ceremonies. At the 43rd Blue Dragon Film Awards in 2022, Lee Jung-Jae won Best New Director, while the film also secured awards for Best Cinematography & Lighting and Best Film Editing. Additionally, the 58th Daejong Film Awards recognized the film's lighting design, and the 59th BaekSang Arts Awards honored the production with an Art Award for cinematography.
