Horse Doctor (South Korean Television Series)
Horse Doctor (Korean: 마의; RR: Maui) is a South Korean historical television drama that aired on MBC from October 1, 2012, to March 25, 2013. The series, which consists of 50 episodes, follows the journey of a veterinarian during the Joseon Dynasty as he overcomes social barriers and professional challenges to eventually serve as a royal physician.

Production
The series was directed by Lee Byung-Hoon and written by Kim Yi-Young. This production marked another collaboration for the duo, who previously worked together on the historical dramas Dong Yi (2010) and Lee San, Wind of the Palace (2007). The Korean title, Maui, refers to the term used during the Joseon period to describe a veterinarian. To prepare for their roles, the cast and production staff visited an oriental medicine hospital in Bundang, South Korea, on July 27, 2012, to receive training in traditional medicine and acupuncture techniques.
