Hoonnamjungeum
Hoonnamjungeum (Korean: 훈남정음), also known by its English title The Undateables, is a South Korean television drama series that aired on SBS in 2018. The series explores the romantic dynamics between two individuals with contrasting views on love.
Plot
The story follows Hoon-Nam (played by Namkoong Min), a man who possesses a deep theoretical understanding of love but rejects the emotional commitment of romantic relationships. He encounters Jung-Eum (played by Hwang Jung-Eum), a woman who desires to find love but has become disillusioned due to her difficult life circumstances. The narrative depicts their developing relationship as they navigate their opposing perspectives.
Production
The series was directed by Kim Yoo-Jin and written by Lee Jae-Yoon. The first script reading was held on April 2, 2018, at the SBS Ilsan Production Center in Tanhyun, South Korea, with filming commencing shortly thereafter in early April 2018. The drama consists of 32 episodes, each approximately 35 minutes in length, and was broadcast in the Wednesday and Thursday 22:00 time slot. It followed the conclusion of Switch: Change the World and preceded Your Honor.
Broadcast Adjustments
The broadcast schedule experienced minor interruptions due to external programming. Episodes 13 and 14 were rescheduled from June 13, 2018, to June 14, 2018, to accommodate the coverage of local election results. Additionally, episodes 19 and 20 were moved from June 27, 2018, to June 28, 2018, due to the 2018 FIFA World Cup broadcast.
