Honto ni Atta Kowai Hanashi: Summer Special 2012 (Japanese: ほんとにあった怖い話　夏の特別編２０１２) is a television horror anthology special that aired on Fuji TV on August 18, 2012. The program is part of the long-running Honto ni Atta Kowai Hanashi series, which dramatizes supernatural experiences reported by viewers. The 2012 summer broadcast achieved a television rating of 16.0%.

Segments

Akai Tsume

Directed by Norio Tsuruta, this segment follows Akiyoshi Ishida (Tomohisa Yamashita), who begins seeing a woman with red fingernails at a Y-shaped intersection after starting a new job. The cast includes Tsubasa Honda, Keiko Horiuchi, Taro Iwate, Mayu Miura, and Sousei Shinbori.

Kuroi Byoshitsu

Directed by Tomonobu Moriwaki, this story centers on Airi (Ayame Goriki), a new nurse who encounters a young boy fixated on a black spot on the ceiling. The cast features Haruka Kinami, Rei Akimoto, Shoko Ikezu, Hachiro Ika, and Yuuki Mashita.

Migi Kata no Onna

Directed by Norio Tsuruta, this segment depicts Toshiya (Masaki Okada), who is told by his girlfriend that a spirit is attached to him. Despite receiving a protective charm from Mami (Misako Renbutsu), his situation deteriorates. The cast also includes Masataka Kubota and Mami Hashimoto.

Mayonaka no Saishu Ressha

This segment, directed by Norio Tsuruta, follows a man (played by Sugi-chan) who experiences terror while riding a deserted late-night train.

Aru Natsu no Dekigoto

Directed by Norio Tsuruta, this story follows Satomi (Karina), who feels haunted by the shadow of a man following the suicide of a childhood friend. The cast includes Masaki Suda, Mitsuomi Takahashi, Satomi Tezuka, Ayano Fukuda, Saori Tominaga, and Chie Sunaga.
