Hong Seok-ku

Hong Seok-ku (Hangul: 홍석구) is a South Korean television and film director known for his extensive work with the Korean Broadcasting System (KBS). His career spans multiple television drama series, television films, and theatrical film releases.

Directing Career

Hong has primarily directed dramatic series and single-episode television specials broadcast on KBS channels. His television drama credits include notable weekend and weekday series such as My Only One (2018–2019), Homemade Love Story (2020–2021), Beauty and Mr. Romantic (2024), and Love on the Menu (2026). Earlier in his career, he directed projects such as Marry Me, Mary! (2010), Golden Cross (2014), and Girls' Generation 1979 (2017).

In addition to standard television series, Hong has directed various single-episode and multi-part television movies for programming slots such as the KBS Drama Special series, including Red Candy (2010), The Angel of Death Comes With Purple High Heels (2010), and The Distributors (2022). He also expanded into feature-length film direction with the theatrical release of The Distributors in 2022. Alongside his directing portfolio, Hong worked as a producer on the television series Hello God in 2006.
