Honest Candidate (2020 Film)
Honest Candidate (Korean: 정직한 후보; RR: Jungjikhan Hoobo) is a 2020 South Korean political comedy film directed by Jang Yoo-jeong. The film follows the story of Joo Sang-sook, a three-term member of the National Assembly who is known for her habitual lying. Her life takes a comedic turn when she suddenly finds herself physically unable to tell anything but the truth while campaigning for her fourth term.
Production
The film is a remake of the 2014 Brazilian comedy O Candidato Honesto. Production for the South Korean adaptation began on June 15, 2019, and concluded on September 7, 2019. It was distributed by Next Entertainment World and released in South Korea on February 12, 2020.
