Hill of Freedom (Korean: 자유의 언덕; RR: Jayuui Eondeok) is a 2014 South Korean drama film written and directed by Hong Sang-soo. It marks the 16th feature-length film in the director's career. The film explores themes of memory, chance, and human connection through its non-linear narrative structure.

Plot
The story follows Mori, a Japanese man who travels to Seoul, South Korea, in an attempt to reunite with a woman he once loved. During his stay at a local guest house, he interacts with various residents and acquaintances, leading to a series of encounters that form the core of the film's narrative.
Production
Principal photography for Hill of Freedom commenced in June 2013 and concluded during the second week of July 2013. The production utilized various locations throughout Seoul, specifically within the Hwayang-dong and Jongno districts.

The film held its world premiere at the 71st Venice Film Festival on August 27, 2014, as part of the Orizzonti section. It was subsequently screened at numerous international film festivals, including the Toronto International Film Festival, the BFI London Film Festival, and the Busan International Film Festival. The film received the Best Film award at the 34th Korean Association of Film Critics Awards in 2014.
