Hidden Face (2024 South Korean Film)

Hidden Face (Korean: 히든페이스) is a 2024 South Korean thriller film directed by Kim Dae-Woo. The film is a remake of the 2011 Spanish production The Hidden Face (La cara oculta).

Plot

The story follows Seong-Jin, an orchestra conductor engaged to a cellist named Soo-Yeon. When Soo-Yeon suddenly disappears, she leaves behind only a recorded video message. As Seong-Jin struggles with the loss, he finds himself drawn to Mi-Joo, a musician who joins the orchestra as Soo-Yeon's replacement. Their relationship escalates during a night at Soo-Yeon's home. Unbeknownst to them, Soo-Yeon is trapped within a secret room inside the house, where she is forced to observe the unfolding events.

Production

The film was directed by Kim Dae-Woo, with a screenplay written by Roh Deok and Hong Eun-Mi. Principal photography commenced on May 16, 2022, and concluded on July 30, 2022. The film was distributed by Next Entertainment World and released in South Korea on November 20, 2024.

Reception and Awards

At the 46th Blue Dragon Film Awards held in 2025, Park Ji-Hyun received the award for Best Supporting Actress for her performance in the film.
