Helpless (2012 South Korean Film)
Helpless (Korean: 화차; RR: Hwacha) is a 2012 South Korean mystery film directed by Byun Young-Joo. The film is based on the 1992 Japanese novel Kasha by author Miyuki Miyabe, which was published in English as All She Was Worth. The title Hwacha translates literally to "freight train bed" or "wagon."

Plot
The story follows Jang Moon-Ho (Lee Sun-Kyun), a man whose fiancée, Kang Sun-Young (Kim Min-Hee), disappears without a trace during a road trip to visit his parents. As Moon-Ho investigates her sudden absence, he discovers that the woman he knew as Sun-Young had been living under a false identity. His search leads him to uncover a series of dark secrets regarding her past, including fraudulent financial history and fabricated employment records. Unable to rely on the police due to the complexity of the identity theft, Moon-Ho enlists the help of his cousin, Kim Jong-Geun (Jo Sung-Ha), a former police officer.
Production
The film was directed by Byun Young-Joo and produced by Shin Hye-Eun and Oh Ki-Min. Principal photography spanned three months, from July 8 to September 23, 2011. During the promotional phase, a character poster featuring lead actress Kim Min-Hee was restricted by the Korea Media Rating Board on February 8, 2012, due to concerns regarding its content.
