Heaven's Order: The Fugitive of Joseon

Heaven's Order: The Fugitive of Joseon (Korean: 천명: 조선판 도망자 이야기) is a South Korean historical television series that aired on KBS2 from April 24 to June 27, 2013. The drama, consisting of 20 episodes, was broadcast on Wednesday and Thursday nights at 21:55.

Plot

The story follows Choi Won, a royal physician serving in the Joseon court. His life is upended when he becomes entangled in a conspiracy involving the poisoning of King Injong. Forced to flee, Choi Won becomes a fugitive while desperately attempting to find a cure for his young daughter, who suffers from an incurable illness. Having raised his daughter as a single father following the death of his wife, his primary motivation throughout the series is her survival.

Production

The series was directed by Lee Jin-seo and Jeon Woo-sung, with a screenplay written by Choi Min-kin and Yoon Soo-jung. Filming for the production commenced in March 2013. The drama occupied the Wednesday and Thursday 21:55 time slot on KBS2, succeeding IRIS 2 and preceding The Blade and Petal.
