Heart Blackened (2017 Film)

Heart Blackened (Korean: 침묵; RR: Chimmook) is a 2017 South Korean legal thriller film directed by Jung Ji-woo. The film is a remake of the 2013 Chinese film Silent Witness, which originally starred Sun Honglei.

Plot

The story centers on a wealthy financial magnate, Im Tae-san, whose life is upended when his fiancée is murdered. His daughter becomes the primary suspect in the case, leading to a complex legal battle to uncover the truth.

Production

The film was produced by Park Joon, with cinematography by Kim Tae-kyung. Principal photography commenced on October 17, 2016, and concluded on February 7, 2017, with filming locations including Bangkok, Thailand. During its development phase, the project was known by the working title Chimmookui Moggyukja (literally "Silent Witness").

Reception

At the 54th Baeksang Arts Awards held on May 3, 2018, Lee Soo-kyung received the award for Best Supporting Actress for her performance in the film.
