Happy New Year (Korean: 해피 뉴 이어) is a 2021 South Korean romantic drama film directed by Kwak Jae-young. The film features an ensemble cast and follows the interconnected stories of staff and guests at the Hotel Emros during the year-end holiday season.

Plot

The narrative centers on the diverse individuals associated with Hotel Emros. The hotel manager, played by Han Ji-min, struggles with her personal life while harboring a long-standing crush on a friend. The hotel's CEO, portrayed by Lee Dong-wook, exhibits a specific obsession with even numbers. Other staff members include a new employee who has set aside her musical aspirations and a dedicated door porter.

The guests bring their own personal challenges and hopes to the hotel. These include a young man who has failed his public officer exams, a popular singer-songwriter, a manager navigating a professional crisis with his client, and a couple preparing for their wedding. The film also explores themes of reconnection, as a businesswoman returning from abroad encounters her first love from forty years ago, who is currently employed as the hotel's door porter.
