Haechi (South Korean TV Series)
Haechi (Korean: 해치) is a South Korean period drama series that aired on SBS from February 11 to April 30, 2019. The series consists of 48 episodes, broadcast on Monday and Tuesday at 22:00. The title refers to a mythical creature from Korean folklore, the haetae, which is traditionally believed to possess the ability to distinguish between the innocent and the guilty.
The narrative is set during the Joseon Dynasty and centers on the efforts of four individuals from diverse social backgrounds who unite to support Prince Lee Geum in his quest to become king and reform the Saheonbu, the government office responsible for monitoring officials and maintaining integrity in the administration.

Production
The series was directed by Lee Yong-Seok with a screenplay written by Kim Yi-Young. The first script reading for the production took place in December 2018 at the SBS Ilsan Production Studios located in Goyang, Gyeonggi Province, South Korea. Haechi occupied the Monday and Tuesday 22:00 time slot on SBS, following the conclusion of My Strange Hero, and was subsequently succeeded by The Secret Life of My Secretary in May 2019.
For lead actor Jung Il-Woo, the series marked his first acting role following the completion of his alternative military service on December 2, 2018.
