Ha Ji-Won, born Jeon Hae-Rim on June 28, 1978, in Seoul, South Korea, is a prominent South Korean actress. She grew up in a family of six, being the second oldest among four siblings, which includes her younger brother, actor Jeon Tae-Su.

Early Career and Acting Debut

Ha entered the entertainment industry after a talent agency approached and signed her to a contract. As part of her initial training and requirements, she attended Dankook University, majoring in theater. In 1997, she made her acting debut in the KBS television drama "Sinsedaebogo 100hui Teukjib," subsequently appearing in various supporting roles before gaining recognition in the 1999 KBS series "School 2."

Breakthrough and Major Film Roles

Ha made her feature film debut in the 2000 movie "Truth Game," portraying a fan club president, a role that earned her the Best New Actress award at the 2000 Grand Bell Awards. Her career expanded significantly with starring roles in commercial and critical successes, such as the 2002 comedy film "Sex Is Zero" and the 2003 historical action drama "Damo: The Legendary Police Woman," which introduced the cultural phenomenon known as "Damo Pain."
