Gracious Revenge
Gracious Revenge (Korean: 우아한 모녀; RR: Uahan Monyeo) is a South Korean television drama series that aired on KBS2 from November 4, 2019, to March 27, 2020. The series consists of 103 episodes and was broadcast in the Monday to Friday 19:50–20:30 time slot.
Plot
The narrative centers on Carrie Jung, portrayed by Choi Myoung-Gil, a woman who has suffered the tragic loss of her husband and child. Driven by grief and a desire for retribution against those she holds responsible, she raises Han Yoo-Jin (Cha Ye-Ryun) as a central figure in her elaborate revenge scheme. The plot follows the complications that arise when Han Yoo-Jin, despite her intelligence and beauty, becomes entangled in a forbidden romance.
Production
The series was directed by Eo Soo-Sun with a screenplay written by Oh Sang-Hee. The first script reading for the production occurred in September 2019 at the KBS Annex Broadcasting Station in Yeouido, South Korea. During the casting process, actress Baek Seung-Hee was initially selected to play the role of Hong Se-Ra; however, she was later replaced by Oh Chae-Yi prior to the series premiere.
Gracious Revenge occupied the KBS2 Monday-Friday 19:50 time slot, succeeding the drama A Place in the Sun. Following its conclusion, the time slot was taken over by Fatal Promise on March 30, 2020.
