Goong S

Goong S (Korean: 궁S), also known internationally as Prince Hours, is a South Korean television series that aired on MBC from January 10 to March 15, 2007. The series is set in an alternate reality where South Korea maintains a constitutional monarchy in the modern era.

Plot

The story begins with a succession crisis within the royal palace. The reigning Queen, who is unmarried and in her early thirties, faces pressure from a conservative faction within the court. When the current heir to the throne dies unexpectedly, the royal succession becomes uncertain. In an effort to secure the future of the monarchy, the Queen searches for a new Crown Prince outside the palace walls. She discovers Lee Hu, a young man working as a Chinese food delivery driver who is unaware of his royal lineage. Lee Hu is brought into the palace and undergoes rigorous training to prepare for his potential role as the next King. His journey is complicated by his rivalry with Lee Jun, a candidate supported by the extended royal family, leading to a series of political conflicts and personal challenges.

Production

The series was directed by Hwang In-Roe and Su-yeong Kim, with a screenplay written by Lee Jae-Soon and Do Young-Myung. The story is based on the original comic by Park So-Hee.
