Goddess of Fire (South Korean TV Series)

Goddess of Fire (Korean: 불의 여신 정이) is a South Korean historical television drama that aired on MBC from July 1 to October 22, 2013. The series consists of 32 episodes and was broadcast on Monday and Tuesday evenings. The narrative centers on the life and artistic journey of Yoo Jung, a fictionalized portrayal of the first female ceramic artist during the Joseon Dynasty.

Production

The production was directed by Park Sung-Soo and Jung Dae-Yoon, with a screenplay written by Kwon Soon-Gyu and Lee Seo-Yoon. The initial script reading for the cast took place in late April 2013 at the MBC Dream Center in Ilsan, South Korea.

During the production, lead actress Moon Geun-Young sustained an injury on set on September 18, 2013, when equipment fell, causing bruising around her eye. Due to the timing of the Chuseok holiday, her medical treatment was delayed, leading to the cancellation of the scheduled broadcasts for episodes 25 and 26 on September 23 and 24, 2013. A special program was aired in their place.
