Go Back Couple

Go Back Couple (Korean: 고백부부) is a South Korean television series that aired on KBS2 from October 13 to November 18, 2017. The drama, directed by Ha Byung-hoon and written by Kwon Hye-joo, explores themes of marriage, regret, and personal growth through a fantasy narrative.

Plot

The story follows Choi Ban-do (Son Ho-jun) and Ma Jin-joo (Jang Na-ra), a married couple who are both 38 years old. Their relationship has deteriorated into mutual resentment; Ban-do struggles with the pressures of being the family breadwinner, while Jin-joo feels isolated as a housewife with low self-esteem. After reaching a breaking point in their marriage, the couple experiences a supernatural event that transports them back to 1999, when they were 20-year-old university students meeting for the first time.

Production

The production of Go Back Couple involved a script reading session held in late August 2017 at the KBS Annex Building in Yeouido, Seoul. The series consisted of 12 episodes and occupied the Friday and Saturday 23:00 time slot on KBS2, following the conclusion of Strongest Deliveryman.
