Gisou Furin
Gisou Furin (Japanese: 偽装不倫), also known by its English title Fake Affair, is a Japanese television drama series that aired on NTV from July 10 to September 11, 2019. The series is based on the manga series of the same name written by Akiko Higashimura, which was first published by Bungeishunju in November 2018.
Plot
The story follows Shoko Hama, a 32-year-old contract worker who has struggled to find a romantic partner despite her desire for marriage. During a solo trip, she encounters a handsome younger man. In an impulsive moment, Shoko lies to him, claiming that she is a married woman. The man responds by suggesting they engage in an affair for the duration of the trip, leading to a complicated series of events.
Production and Broadcast
The drama was directed by Yuma Suzuki and Seiichi Nagumo, with a screenplay by Rin Eto. It occupied NTV's Wednesday 22:00 time slot, succeeding Nurse in Action and preceding Our Dearest Sakura. The series concluded with an average viewership rating of 10.3% in the Kanto region.
