Forgotten (Korean: 기억의 밤; RR: Gieokui Bam) is a 2017 South Korean mystery-thriller film written and directed by Jang Hang-jun. The film, which explores themes of memory, identity, and psychological tension, was released in South Korea on November 29, 2017.

Plot

The story follows Jin-seok (Kang Ha-neul), a young man suffering from hypersensitivity who moves into a new home with his older brother, Yoo-seok (Kim Moo-yul), and their parents. Jin-seok relies on medication to maintain a semblance of normalcy in his daily life. The family's stability is shattered when Jin-seok witnesses his brother being abducted by a group of men on a rainy night.

After 19 days of unexplained absence, Yoo-seok returns home with no memory of his disappearance. While his family welcomes him back, Jin-seok begins to notice subtle, unsettling changes in his brother's personality and behavior. His suspicions grow as he hears strange noises emanating from a locked room in the house, which was supposedly used to store the belongings of the previous owner.

Production

The film was written and directed by Jang Hang-jun. Principal photography for the project commenced on March 11, 2017, and concluded on June 8, 2017. The film was distributed by Megabox Plus M.
