Forgiveness (2008 Documentary Film)
Forgiveness (Korean: 용서; RR: Yongseo) is a 2008 South Korean documentary film directed by Wook-hee Jo. The film focuses on the families of the victims of serial killer Yoo Young-chul, whose crimes occurred in South Korea between September 2003 and July 2004. Yoo was convicted of 20 murders, primarily targeting elderly individuals and sex workers.

Production and Release
The documentary originated as a television production that aired on the South Korean network SBS in December 2007 with a runtime of 70 minutes. A theatrical version, expanded to 100 minutes, was released in South Korean cinemas on November 6, 2008. The film had a limited theatrical run, screening in two theaters for a period of two weeks.

The documentary is narrated by actress Hye-su Kim. Following her participation in the project, she donated her entire fee to the families of the victims affected by the crimes depicted in the film.







Context
The crimes of Yoo Young-chul, which serve as the subject of the documentary, gained significant public attention in South Korea. The 2008 feature film The Chaser is also noted for its thematic connection to the same series of murders.
