Forever the Moment (2008 Film)
Forever the Moment (Korean: 우리 생애 최고의 순간; RR: Woori Saengae Chwegoui Soongan) is a 2008 South Korean sports drama directed by Yim Soon-rye. The film is based on the true story of the South Korean women's national handball team and their performance at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens.

Plot
The narrative follows Han Mi-sook (Moon So-ri), a former professional handball player who has transitioned to a quiet life working in a grocery store after her team disbanded. Her former teammate, Kim Hae-kyung (Kim Jung-eun), returns to South Korea from Japan to serve as the replacement coach for the national team. Hae-kyung attempts to revitalize the squad by recruiting veteran players, including Mi-sook.
The team faces internal conflict as younger players struggle to adapt to Hae-kyung's traditional training methods. Following intense friction, Hae-kyung is replaced by a new coach, Ahn Seung-pil (Uhm Tae-woong). Seung-pil introduces a more scientific, European-style training regimen, which initially meets resistance from the veteran players. Ultimately, Hae-kyung chooses to set aside her coaching ambitions to rejoin the team as a player, working alongside her former teammates to compete on the international stage.
Production
To ensure authenticity, the lead actresses underwent an intensive three-month handball training program led by professional coach Lee Dae-jin. The film's climactic Olympic match sequence was filmed at the Samsan Sports Complex in Incheon, South Korea. To portray the Danish Olympic team, the production utilized an actual professional handball team from Aarhus, Denmark, who were visiting South Korea for international exhibition games.
