For Horowitz (Korean: 호로비츠를 위하여; RR: Horobicheureul Wihayeo) is a 2006 South Korean drama film directed by Kwon Hyung-Jin. The film explores themes of ambition, mentorship, and personal growth through the story of a struggling piano teacher and a young boy with exceptional musical talent.

Plot

Kim Ji-Soo (played by Uhm Jung-Hwa) is a pianist who has failed to achieve her dream of international acclaim. Feeling like a disappointment to her family and herself, she moves to a small town to open the “Vienna Piano Studio,” where she teaches local children. Her life changes when she encounters Yoon Gyung-Min (Sin Ee-Jae), a troubled boy who initially disrupts her classes. Upon discovering that Gyung-Min possesses perfect pitch and raw musical talent, Ji-Soo decides to train him for a competition, hoping his success will validate her own career as a teacher.
