Fermentation Family
Fermentation Family (Korean: 발효가족; RR: Balhyogajog), also known by its English title Kimchi Family, is a South Korean television drama series that aired on the JTBC network. The series consists of 24 episodes and was broadcast from December 7, 2011, to February 23, 2012, airing on Wednesday and Thursday nights.
Production
The drama was directed by Park Chan-Hong and Yoo Jung-Joon, with a screenplay written by Kim Ji-Woo. Principal photography for the series commenced in late September 2011. Following the conclusion of Fermentation Family, the network began airing the series How Long I've Kissed on February 29, 2012.

Plot
The story centers on Chunjiin, a traditional Korean restaurant renowned for its kimchi. The narrative follows Ki Ho-Tae, a man who grew up in an orphanage and later became involved with a criminal organization. After a confrontation with his associates, Ho-Tae finds himself drawn to the Chunjiin restaurant, a place that triggers faint, long-forgotten memories from his childhood.
At the restaurant, he encounters Lee Kang-San, the daughter of the owner, Lee Ki-Chan. As the plot progresses, the lives of the restaurant's staff and the mystery surrounding Ho-Tae's past become intertwined with the daily operations and challenges faced by the family-run establishment.
