Fashion 70's (Korean: 패션 70's) is a South Korean television drama series that aired on SBS from May 23 to August 29, 2005. Directed by Lee Jae-Kyu and written by Jung Sung-Hee, the series consists of 30 episodes and explores themes of ambition, destiny, and professional rivalry within the fashion industry during the 1970s.
Plot
The narrative centers on the lives of four individuals whose paths are intertwined by fate. The story focuses on the professional competition between two fashion designers: Han Du-mi, who possesses natural talent, and Ko Joon-hee, who relies on rigorous hard work to compensate for a lack of innate ability. Their rivalry is often compared to the relationship between Mozart and Salieri, as they compete for both professional success and romantic interests.
The characters' backgrounds are shaped by the trauma of the Korean War. Han Du-mi, born into a wealthy family, loses her parents during the conflict and is sent to Austria, where she spends her formative years. Conversely, Ko Joon-hee, who comes from a humble background, finds her trajectory altered after being adopted by a wealthy family, which allows her to develop a sophisticated sense of fashion.
