Fantastic is a South Korean television drama series that aired on the JTBC network in 2016. The series consists of 16 episodes and was broadcast on Friday and Saturday nights at 20:30.
Plot
The story focuses on the relationship between Lee So-hye, a successful television drama writer, and Ryoo Hae-sung, a popular actor known for his poor acting skills. The narrative develops as So-hye faces a terminal diagnosis, having only six months left to live.
Production
The series was directed by Jo Nam-kook and written by Lee Sung-eun. The first script reading for the production took place on July 20, 2016, at the JTBC building in Sangam, Seoul. The drama occupied the Friday and Saturday time slot on JTBC, following the conclusion of Hello, My Twenties! and preceding Listen to Love.
During the production, actor Ji Soo, who played the character Kim Sang-wook, was diagnosed with acute osteomyelitis. He underwent surgery on September 13, 2016. Due to his health condition, his filming schedule was adjusted, resulting in a reduction of his character's scenes in the series.
