Family by Choice (South Korean TV Series)

Family by Choice (Korean: 조립식 가족; RR: Joribshik Gajok) is a South Korean television series that aired on JTBC from October 9 to November 27, 2024. The 16-episode drama was directed by Kim Seung-Ho and written by Hong Shi-Young.

Background

The series is a remake of the Chinese television drama Go Ahead, which originally aired on Hunan TV in 2020. The story centers on three individuals—Kim San-Ha, Yoon Joo-Won, and Kang Hae-Joon—who, despite not being related by blood, share a deep, family-like bond formed during their youth. After a decade of separation, the trio reunites, leading to the development of their romantic and personal relationships.

Cast and Characters

The main cast features Hwang In-Yeop as Kim San-Ha, Jung Chae-Yeon as Yoon Joo-Won, and Bae Hyun-Sung as Kang Hae-Joon. They are supported by Choi Won-Young, who plays Yoon Jung-Jae, and Choi Moo-Sung, who portrays Kim Dae-Wook.
